Help us to help those in need
The Hermanus Rainbow Trust is a bastion of hope for thousands of individuals in the Overstrand who need someone to help shoulder their burens of poverty, marginalisation and disease. There are impoverished and broken families, child-headed households, individuals in desperate need of dignified health care and children without aqueqaute education who rely on the Trust to assist them through their times of despair and darkness, on their way to making better lives for themselves. Please help us to paint a rainbow of hope and opportunity in the Overstrand.
There are countless ways in which you can help us to help those in need:
- We are in constant need of funding to sustain and expand our much-needed services. All contributions are tax-deductable, and we will provide you with an 18A certificate. No matter how small, your contribution will make a difference! Donations can be made via direct deposit or through our online giving portal at Greater Good South Africa.

- Our sponsor-a-child programme ensures that the most needy children are able to attend creches desipte their financial situations. Only R75 a month will cover this cost, and you will receive updates of the child that you are sponsoring.
- While we have a fairly large staff component, we are always looking for volunteers to assist us in the roll-out of our services and programmes. Whether you have special skills or abilities that you would like to put to specific use, or whether you want to help but just don't quite know how, we have a special place in our organsiation just for you!
- In addition to financial contributions, our programmes and beneficiaries require material resources. You may have some unused items lying around or you may wish to sponsor us with new gifts-in-kind (these also qualify for tax exemptions). Examples of what we are looking for include foodstuffs, clothes, shoes, furniture (especially beds), bedding, school uniforms, small appliances, stationery and baby toys/equipment.
