Schools "Sponsor a Child" Programme

The Hermanus Rainbow Trust has established a Schools "Sponsor a Child" programme to enable schools to "adopt" under-privileged children.

The concept is for a class to adopt an under-privileged boy and a girl from a township school, of the same age group and to enable them to interact and share activities.

The class would jointly raise the monthly sponsorship for the children (R100 to R300 options), which the HRT utilises to provide a "food parcel" and basic toiletries to the children every moth.

The Social Carers who take care of these selected children will arrange for the children to attend sporting events and other school activities as well as occasional  "class swop" days where children attend each others schools for a day.

If you or your school are interested in joining the Schools "Sponsor a Child' Programme" to make a difference in the life of an under-privileged child, please contact me.

The HRT "Social Enterprise"

The Hermanus Rainbow Trust has developed a "sustainability strategy" to limit the challenges of getting "grant funding" from government, funding agencies and business in these difficult economic times. The strategy is built around the establishment of a "Social Enterprise" in line with global trends.

Non-Profit Organisations - The Current Funding Model is NOT Sustainable

Why ? What are the alternatives ?

The Hermanus Rainbow Trust, like many other NPO’s / NGO’s, is threatened by the current "grant funding" models in South Africa, where most NPO’s are totally dependent on "grant funding from Government, Funding Agencies, Business, Individual Donors, Sponsors and fund raising events.

Please help us help those in NEED !
